Hello, venison lovers!  Start here to find fat free, healthy, and tasty venison.  Come here also to find recipes and related topics.  Research shows that humans have been eating venison for 50,000 years.  We Westerners had a short "hiccup" beginning around 1600 when cattle, sheep, hogs, and goats became the domestic meat resource of choice because they had all that marvelous fat for keeping us warm and burning the mid-night oil.

Definition & word play:  The word venison first referred to any wild game meat.  It has evolved to just mean deer meat.  We wonder why and think we have a good clue:  In English, we use different words when referring to meat on the hoof and meat on the table...cow / beef.....pig / pork....perhaps that is why we call deer on the table, venison!  For more definition info, check out Wikipedia.

Now whether we are lean, mean, and work-out so we want to eat healthy, or we are couch potatoes and need to cut back intake, or we're in chemotherapy and need chemical free meat, or we love delicious meats, we're coming back in droves to natural, fat free, venison. Some say it is the meat of the 21st Century.  We agree.
